Description: This is my first drawing of
an Angel, and I specifically want to develop a series of drawings of the
Angel Raphael. An assignment was given in school to illustrate a
book. The book I chose is "Where Angels Walk" and it so perfectly
ties in with my desire to paint Angels. The book is illustrated with
a drawing of the Angel Raphael, mostly because he is one of my favorite
Angels, and also because he did walk among men ~ God sent him to be a companion
and guide to the young Tobias ~ this beautiful story is told in the Book
of Tobit in the Old Testament.
Besides being a Healer, in Catholic lore, Raphael is known
as the Patron Saint of cats ~ to my way of thinking, our pets in general,
whether they be dog, cat, bird or any other pet. Whenever one of
my cats hopped the fence and was lost, I've asked Raphael to please
help find him ~ Raphael has never let me down. I have always found
my cats ~ no matter where they may have been. |
